Our almshouse management service is tailored to individual need but often encompasses day-to-day management and maintenance, as well as delivering administrative and book-keeping support.

Many almshouse buildings are old and architecturally impressive, but that can make it harder to ensure they are well-maintained and meet health, safety and fire regulations. Our trusted contractors have the experience and skill to meet the most stringent standards while providing great value for money.

We work with trustees to help provide affordable, comfortable homes to the needy and uphold as far as possible the founding rules of the original benefactors.

Our service also includes supporting trustees with the resident application process, providing a familiar, friendly point of contact for residents and helping to resolve any disputes which arise.

Mulberry PM’s Managing Director, Anya Mathewson, is the Almshouse Association’s Regional Champion for Yorkshire. As the point of contact for trustees from the region’s 150-plus almshouses, she engages with members, provides local expertise and identifies charities in need of extra support. Anya is also on the steering group which is updating the Standards of Almshouse Management manual, and she assists with the Association’s fundraising activities.
