The great tradition of almshouses providing shelter for people in need was begun in York, where we are based, in the year 936. We’re passionate about upholding the almshouse vision of providing secure, comfortable homes to elderly and/or vulnerable adults, and work with charities to provide this.

We help trustees and board members manage the day to day operation of almshouses on a bespoke basis. Our services include safety compliance, property maintenance, supporting trustees with the resident application process, providing a point of contact for residents, corporate governance, accounts, book-keeping and administrative support.


Almshouse residents are entitled to independent, dignified, affordable living and we see our job as helping to uphold these aims. We work with trustees to meet regulatory demands as well as uphold the founding principles of their almshouse charity.
